About light stalkers

light stalkers is a quiet home for photographers to share their work. No algorithm, no ranking, no ads — just your photographs, the way you arranged them, at a URL you can hand to anyone. Following the light.

Each photographer gets their own page. Your photos live at lightstalkers.net/u/you, grouped into albums and, if you like, into collections that gather albums together — a series, a year, a body of work.

Albums & collections

Upload your photos into albums. Each album is yours to order, caption, and choose a cover for. Group related albums into a collection when a single set isn't enough. Your profile lists it all; visitors can browse by album or by collection.

Public, private, or by link

Every album is private until you say otherwise. Make one public and it appears on your page and in the daily feed. Want to show a private album to a few people without making it public? Turn on a secret share link — anyone with the link can see it, no account needed, and you can revoke it any time.

A daily feed

The home page is a single chronological stream — at most one photograph per photographer per day, newest first. No personalisation, no engagement loop, no infinite doom-scroll engineered to keep you here. A calm window onto what people are seeing. Tap any photo to open it in its album.

Following

Found a photographer whose work you love? Follow them from their page. Your /following feed then gathers every photo from everyone you follow into one chronological stream, newest first — no algorithm deciding what you see, just the people you chose. Tap any photo to open it in its album.

Postcards

Signed-in viewers can write you a postcard from any album or photo — a private note, just to you. No public comments, no pile-ons. Postcards arrive in your /inbox, and you can reply privately, back and forth. A good photograph deserves a considered word, not a like.

Fast & lightweight

Photos are served in modern formats (AVIF and WebP), sized for your screen, and loaded as you scroll — so pages stay quick even on a phone or a slow connection. No ads, no third-party trackers, no fingerprinting.

Support

Set a Liberapay username in your settings and a Support button appears on your public page, so people who love your work can chip in. Liberapay is a free, open-source way to support people and projects, and it doesn't take a cut of what you receive.

light stalkers itself is free, and you're not the product — we don't harvest or sell your data. If you'd like to support the people keeping it running, you can here:
